Adidas replaces Castore

Leaked images of Max Verstappen wearing Adidas gear suggest Red Bull Racing will replace Castore as their clothing supplier. These photos, which appear to come from a behind-the-scenes photoshoot, show the four-time champion in gear that has the unmistakable three stripes on the shoulders and the Adidas logo on the chest. Red Bull has used Castore since 2022, but these images suggest that arrangement is ending. Earlier this year, reports circulated regarding a prospective deal for 2027 with a reported value of 27 million euros. Bild reports that Adidas and Red Bull would sign a deal for at least three years, which would earn Red Bull 27 million euros per season. I find the reliance on leaked social media photos to confirm a massive multi-million dollar deal to be a bit thin, but the Adidas branding on the gear is clear.

New branding and paddock presence

Adidas has reportedly shown Verstappen’s team designs for their first joint collection. These designs include the Adidas three stripes and break from the classic dark-blue look the team uses. While blue remains the secondary color for the Austrian team, Adidas reportedly wants to give Red Bull a "fresh new look with new accents." This change might annoy long-time fans who prefer the traditional aesthetic. Adidas is already the official clothing partner of Mercedes and Audi, so this move increases their presence in the F1 paddock. Red Bull Racing will be the third team to move on from Castore, which is the Austrian team’s clothing sponsor.
