Austin event details
Liam Lawson will trade his F1 car for a guitar on Thursday, October 22, 2026, in Austin, Texas. He headlines the Racing Bulls Garage Sessions at Inn Cahoots on East 6th Street. This performance, which is part of the 3 pm Esses Bazaar in Austin, will see Lawson join his brother Marcus and two childhood friends, Thomas and Harrison, for the 7 pm set. Fans at the bazaar can find food, a tattoo artist, western wear, and glam stations in the area. They can also pose for photos next to the team’s show car before the Garage Sessions event begins. The full lineup also includes country singers Jonny Capeci, Scoot Teasley, and Jess Farren, as well as Alison Nichols and Drake Milligan. Drake Milligan previously headlined the inaugural F1 Grid Gig before last year’s United States Grand Prix. I find the chance to see Lawson with his childhood friends to be the best part of the lineup.
The custom guitar
Lawson is launching a signature instrument to mark his debut. To celebrate the event, he collaborated with Taylor Guitars to create the LL30 GS Mini Special Edition. This acoustic guitar has a pink-to-white burst design across the top of the body. Pink dot bridge pins complement the finish. His racing number 30 is on the pickguard. A cartoon logo from his helmet is engraved on the truss rod cover and appears inside the body through the soundhole.
| Feature | Specification |

| Model | LL30 GS Mini Special Edition Taylor |
| Body Finish | Pink-to-white burst/ombre |

Taylor Guitars will release a limited number of these guitars in the United States later this year. Lawson posted on Instagram that it feels "crazy" to have his own Taylor guitar. He noted that the LL30 GS Mini is everything he would want in his own instrument and shows his personality. Fans reacted to the post, which received over 82,000 likes, with comments praising the pink color.
Lawson’s musical background
Lawson’s musical interests arrive during a competitive Formula 1 season. The 24-year-old driver currently holds ninth place in the standings with 75 points, while Racing Bulls holds fifth with 100 points. The United States Grand Prix takes place at the Circuit of the Americas from October 23 to October 25. Lawson is becoming the first active F1 driver to headline a live music set during a Grand Prix weekend in Austin. He admitted that preparing for a live performance is difficult because he has such a specific job in racing, stating he never feels fully prepared. This musical debut happens while his 2027 seat remains uncertain, as F2 driver Nikola Tsolov waits in the wings. Lawson used music to clear his head during the racing season and has previously jammed with country artist Warren Zeiders. He even taught his Racing Bulls teammate Isack Hadjar how to play guitar last year. His musical foundation began at age six when his father, who played in a band, encouraged him and his brother to play. He grew up on 80s rock and attended a Def Leppard concert when he was eight or nine years old. He also admires the music knowledge and songwriting of John Mayer. To play music, he had to pass a guitar exam with a distinction to satisfy his father. He describes playing the guitar as a big part of his life since he was young and uses music to clear his head during the season.
